The overpass over the PKP railway tracks was built as part of Nowa Słowackiego Route between the Lech Walesa Airport and the Sea Port of Gdańsk. Its structure is modelled after the nearby, historic, truss overpass in Kościuszki street. The second stage of the Słowackiego Route project, including the overpass and the flyover, cleared traffic jams at the intersection of Aleja Grunwaldzka and Słowackiego streets, close to the Galeria Bałtycka shopping centre.
The overpass comprises two separate spans, each with arch-shaped bearing elements made of steel and resembling the truss arches of the existing overpass.
The roadway’s bearing structure is an orthotropic slab with two steel plate girders and reinforcing elements under the roadway and pathways. The slab has been fastened on the arches with rope ties with double knuckle joints. The arches are based on massive, reinforced concrete supports located on the sides and in the middle, with direct foundation. All designed supports have been covered with clinker brick, whereas the stringers  with clinker plates.
Basic parameters:
support axis length: about 50m per each span
number of spans: 2
structure width: about 20m
