The project assumes the construction of bicycle parks as part of the project entitled “Development of Bicycle Transport in the Tri-City Conurbation in the years 2007- 2013” amongst other:
P1 park at the entry down to the beach in Babie Doły, P3 at the Naval Museum, P5 in front of Batory Shopping Mall and in front of Kwiatkowski Shopping Mall, P8 at the pier in Orłowo, W6 at the SKM Gdynia Wzgórze Św. Maksymiliana station, W7 at the SKM Gdynia Orłowo station, W10 at the SKM Gdynia Chylonia station.
In the majority of the parks roofs over the parking places have been designed in the form of a modular load-bearing and roof construction so as to make it possible to multiply the module and shape the length of the roof freely depending on the design assumptions and guidelines and location of the park. The roof construction is made of steel, the crosspieces between the spans have been designed out of round pipes, and in the case of location in the area of the boulevard – out of wooden cross-bars. The sidewalls and roof covering are made of colourless chilled glass.
Two types of bicycle racks have been used in the parks. In the so-called downtown area of Gdynia V-shaped racks have been designed made of stainless steel, while in the remaining locations – U-shaped steel racks. Each bicycle rack is mounted to a 1.2x2m concrete slab made of architectural concrete that designated parking places for bicycles in space. Each bicycle park is also fitted with an information board. At P3 park the novelty is a bicycle compressor.
