Architectural competition “Redevelopment of Plac Wolności [Freedom Square]”

Redevelopment of Plac Wolności constitutes a chance of living standard improvement and public space revitalisation throughout the downtown of Świnoujście. Multi-function space is supposed to be created within the 32mx32m square, with a system of fountains, seats, and a stage being envisaged. It is planned that a temporary roof can be stretched between lighting posts. Such an internal square will facilitate management of the central part of the space and the zones along facades. As regards space planning, on the one side of the square there is the historical façade of the post office, whereas on the other side there is Armii Krajowej Street and Plac Słowiański Square facing towards the banks of the Świna River.
